Liyen Chong’s practice revolves around the notion of translation, cultural symbolism, history, and the ancient Chinese hair embroidery. Using the hair of her friends and acquaintances, Liyen uses embroidery techniques that were passed down to her from her grandmother. Below are some examples of her past works.
